THEODORE JOSEPH GEILE, SR.

Theodore Joseph Geile, Sr. Was born October 31, 1836 in Prussia.

 

Theodore was 9 years younger than Joe, his older brother, making him only 15 years old when Joe came to America in 1851. In 1856, at the age of 20 years, Theodore came to America and lived with his brother Joe near Yount, Missouri. Theodore stayed in Joe and Mary's home until he enlisted in the Civil War. Theodore was a private in D2 Missouri Infantry.

 

He bought land from his brother, Joe, in 1863. Joe did not move to Silver Lake until 1874, so this land would have been in the Yount, Missouri area. [Did he move to Silver Lake at the same time in 1874?]

 

On 4 May 1865, Theodore married Elisetta (Lissette) (Elizabeth) Wengler (born March 12, 1844) and they had 7 children. She was born on ocean liner while coming to U.S. from Germany.

 

In January 1870, Theodore and Lissette’s had a daughter, Elizabeth Geile. She would have been born near Yount, Missouri. She would die about 1880 at the age of 10 years.

 

One August 31, 1872, Theodore and Lissette have a son, Joseph L. Geile. He would marry Josephine Doll (born June 10, 1874, died April 10, 1933) and have 6 children. He would die on May 15, 1957, at the age of 84 and is buried at Silver Lake, St. Rose Lima Cemetery.

 

Note: Josephine, Henry, and Andrew Doll were siblings. Henry married Louesa (Louise) Geile, daughter of Theodore’s brother, Joe. Andrew married Jane "Jennie" Geile, daughter of Theodore’s brother, Joe.

 

In 1874, Theodore and Lissette have a daughter, Catherine (Kate) Mary Geile. She would marry Willis E. Oster. She would die in 1963 at the age of 89 years and is buried in Silver Lake, St. Rose Lima Cemetery.

 

On October 16, 1876, Theodore and Lissette have a daughter, Mary Catherine Geile. She would marry Henry Hennecke. She would die at the age of 22 years on October 08, 1899, and is buried in Silver Lake Missouri, St. Rose Lima Cemetery.

 

On April 9, 1878, Theodore and Lissette have a son, Augustus (August) Geile. He would marry Lena (born February 22, 1882, died Dec 5, 1935). He would marry Irene Robinson (born Nov 2, 1880, died August 10, 1992). He would marry a third time. He would died at the age of 85 years on June 06, 1963, and is buried in Silver Lake Missouri, St. Rose Lima Cemetery.

 

On November 1879, Theodore and Lissette have a son, Frank Geile. He would marry Clara Mae Ragsdale and have 2 children. He would die in 1974 at the age of 95 years and is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Perryville, Missouri.

 

On August 3, 1884, Theodore and Lissette have a son, Theodore Joseph "Tater" Geile, Jr. He would marry Alice French (born June 13, 1888, died September 11, 1978) and have 8 children. He would die at the age of 100 years on May 29, 1985, and is buried in Silver Lake Missouri, St. Rose Lima Cemetery.

 

On March 12, 1882, Theodore and Lissette would have a son, Peter Geile. He would marry Mary Grace Duvall (born Jan 27, 1886, died Nov 1, 1967) and have 5 children. He would die March 09, 1963, and is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Perryville, Missouri.

 

Theodore died September 30, 1907, at the age of 70, and is buried in Silver Lake Missouri, at St. Rose Lima Cemetery.

 

Lissette died at the age of 84 years on June 14, 1928, and is buried in Silver Lake Missouri, at St. Rose Lima Cemetery.
