Reading through the Gospels 82 Mark 4:24-25

Mark 4:24-25 Lamp Under a Basket Measured

Jesus continued, "Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away." There is a colon after the first phrase, meaning the rest refers to "paying attention to what I hear."  If one skips the first phrase, the verses seem similar to other verses about judging one another.  However, this is not about judging, but rather about hearing.  How do I measure what I hear? Do I measure God's Word with faith? With truth? Or with fault and untruth? If I see the truth of God's Word, I receive truth. This describes the parable of the sower in that those who hear the word (seed) and take it to heart will grow in faith. To remain spiritually fit, use it or lose it. God's Word is served up with the necessary nutrients to not only sustain faith, but grow it.
