42. Steampunk Scrapbooking

Steampunk is a sprawling neo-vintage trend that has spilled over into scrapbooking. Originally a literary genre combining Victorian-era historical fiction with sci-fi and fantasy, steampunk has developed into a full-fledged design aesthetic embracing brass and pearls, gears and velvet, smoke and satin, faded daguerrotypes and shiny airships. Words to describe it:

19th century Era
Victorian
Wild West
Steam powered Era
Brass (metallic)
Pearls
Gears
Velvet
Smoke
Satin
Daguerrotypes
fantasy
flying ships

What Photoshop skills can we use to create daguerrotypes with today's digital photos. It seems all of the phone apps have this type of 19th century choice.

Think fantasy photo, old vintage daguerrotypes and brass, gears, pearls and velvet. I like the idea of contrasting hard (metallic, gears) with soft (pearls, velvet).
