I love this simple technique and wish that I would do this more often!  It is really such a simple way to create something eye-popping in your layout.  I do hope that you love this little trick as much as I do and learn a little more about how to use your program. It allows for a larger title that does not gain visual weight, which would take focus off of the photos.

I realized right after I recorded this (this is an older written tutorial!) that you could also create the border, duplicate your background layer and put it above the border, and then group (Control G) the two together to make this work with papers that are not a solid color.
