Considering Daily Goals - His Way Higher

Isaiah 55:8-9, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Here are my thoughts on this verse.

Every morning when I wake up, I consider my goals for the day. Every night, I reflect as to what I have achieved that day. I am not sure why I have this practice, but when I have been unproductive, I get depressed. When I have accomplished things, I feel good.

This verse reminds me that I should not be thinking each morning first about what my goals are, but asking God what his goals are. What is it that He wants me to do today? When I go to bed at night, is He smiling at me because I accomplished the things He wanted me to do?
