Hot Apple Cider Tea

Love this!  I love tea and I love the smell of hot mulled apple cider, so I decided to make up my own recipe combining my two drinks I love.

I made some strong tea.  Then I poured equal parts tea and apple cider in a pan (I used 2 cups each).  Then I added a splash of lemon juice, some ground cinnamon, and a handful of brown sugar.  Then I and sliced two cutie oranges and squeezed in the juice.

Most recipes call for cinnamon sticks and spices such as allspice, nutmeg, and cloves.  Honestly, I've tried all that in past years and it seems more hullabaloo than necessary.  Yes, cinnamon sticks make a great addition to the cup for stirring and that little something-something, but they are expensive.

For me, mulling is all about the scent! I love the smell of apple cider and cinnamon wafting through the air.  Oh, it fills up the whole kitchen!

Ladeling the hot apple cider tea into the cup is such a delight! Those fragrances dance right up.

Of course, sipping the hot apple cider tea in your own kitchen filled with all those glorious smells is the best place to enjoy your cup of goodness.
