Stop worry about pleasing others and . . .

3/22/13 Sometimes I see quotes online and I think they are good, until I rethink it, and I like to change them up.  This one ended in "do what makes you happy."  The world is not all about ourselves.

Lord, I have a strong need for approval that stems from my childhood.  Thank You, Lord, for loving me unconditionally.  Help me to tune out those voices in my head that tell me that I am not accepted or that this or that person is probably thinking I'm weird.  I know that might not be what is on the mind at all, yet I begin to retract because of my own thoughts.  Help me to be patient with those who I feel do not accept me and to see their perspective from their shoes and their life circumstances.  I really do not want to offend anyone, Lord, but I find often my well meant words are taken the wrong way.  Be there, Lord, right between me and those people who are perceiving my words wrong and change the minds and the attitudes of me and them so that Your love can show through with glowing happiness toward each person.  Thank you, Lord, that the only thing that really matters is what You think of me.  May I always please you, Lord, in my thoughts, words, and actions.
