The shrub is 3 to 4 foot high for about 10 years, but after another decade, could get to 10 to 13 foot high. I have been trimming mine every few years to keep it smaller.
This is a dense, compact, and cone-shaped evergreen shrub. It could act as a Christmas tree right in your garden space! It is a White Spruce because of the color of the wood, which I cannot see unless I chop it down!
This plant can be grown in a container or pruned as an artistic topiary.
Spruce spider mites can be a problems and the first sign of them are yellow specks on the needles.
2017
This was before we moved the fenceline when installing the new white fence in 2019. Look how small it was! It is still in the same spot, even though the bricks have been moved.
2006
Oh, this is that plant we took out in 2024 that I trimmed and trimmed and it was prickly and neither of us liked it. I do not know the name of it. It was only good for its lighter green color. That was not enough good for all the work it created, so I finally decided to take it out after all these many years. I am so glad that I did. I guess I decided to stick it on this page with the other green shrubs.
