Did you know this little tidbit for those genealogist?
In May 2008, Rootsweb was combined with Ansestry. I used to visit Rootsweb all the time, especially for social security numbers of those who have died. Getting a social security application has proven to give me many details of a person's life. Unfortunately, the social security information is accessed differently now (read here).
What is different in that the web address for all Rootsweb pages will change from www.rootsweb.com to www.rootsweb.ancestry.com.
It is still free and still navigate the same, or so it was in 2008!
