If we can endure for this minute
All that is happening which we see,
No matter how heavy our heart is
Or how dark the moment may be-
If we can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about,
Secure in the knowledge God loves
When everyone else seems to doubt -
If we can but keep on believing
What we know in our heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too-
Then nothing in life can defeat us
For as long as this knowledge remains
We can suffer whatever is happening
For we know love will break all of the chains
