When Pastors go through difficult times, they can be blessed by having encouraging people who believe in them, even it they don't believe in themselves.
Pastors get discouraged and that is why God has blessed church families with encouragers. These dear people don't wait for a reason to encourage. They don't wait for signs of depression. They've learned that encouragement prevents discouragement.
So many Pastors are discouraged simply because there are very few people in their fellowships who are encouragers. Satan loves to devour pastors. He plays with their thoughts. He seeks to deplete their finances, ruin their families and steal their faith and joy.
It is not that Pastors need to satisfy a hungry ego. But when the devil tries to deceive them in thinking they are worthless and unloved, an encouragement can bring them back to reality. They may never forget an act of love and encouragement.
I'll tell you what will change your pastor if he or she has lost their effectiveness. Are you ready? YOU! All your pastor may need is a good friend who will love them and believe in them even when they mess up. It might be that the best thing you can do for your future Spiritual growth is invest some time, energy and maybe a buck or two and bless your pastor. If your pastor can rise above his discouragement, hurt feelings and church trials through your encouraging words, love and actions, then your pastor will be able to teach, preach and love others more effectively of your influence upon my life".
