Top of the Marq, Cape Girardeau

These photos are of our visit to the Top of the Marq restaurant on September 2, 2019, and the final few are on November 29, 2019, when we watched the Christmas Tree being lit below. The restaurant is named as such because it is located at the top of the Marquette Tower, formerly the Marquette Hotel. There is amazing seating both inside and outside on the terrace.

The Marquette Hotel is a historic building located at 338 Broadway Street, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The six story building, seven if you count the basement, is of the Mission or Spanish revival style and was built in 1928, with thehe north wing being added in 1936. It features twin Spanish-style towers that on each side of the facade with a bumpy terra cotta tile roof and double Romanesque arched openings separated by Moorish-style spiral columns. You can see it all in addition to the fabulous view of downtown, the Bill Emerson bridge, and the Mississippi River from the Top of the Marq. To top it all off the food is just fantabulous. If only I could afford to come eat here more often, I would!
