The Riverhouse

The Riverhouse wine place is in Scott City, Missouri. It is easy to find as there is one main street through town. When you get to the bridge that turns right into Old Illmo, do not go that way and keep going straight until you reach the Mississippi River and you will run right into it. We visited not long after they opened on September 28, 2014. We have visited several times since then, but these seem to be the only photos I have at this time.

The do not grow their own grapes or make their own wine, but they do have a good selection of wines and food and a great location in view of the Mississippi River and the Thebes Railroad Bridge. This above is a view of the Riverhouse in 2018 taken from Thebes.

You can see the Thebes bridge clearly.

The Mississippi River as seen through the window. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Look! You can watch the trains cross. It is kind of cool to see. I'm not sure why. It just is.

Another train!

Watch their Facebook page for announcements of entertainment.

This is a view of Thebes and the historic Thebes Courthouse from the Riverhouse. I recommend going to both locations.

You can watch barges on the river too.

We have been here when the river has been flooding too and is all around the Riverhouse. That is kind of intimidating!

This is a barge going under the Thebes bridge.
