Blue Sky Vineyard

Blue Sky Vineyard is located on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail in Ilinois, and its address is 3150 S Rocky Comfort Rd, Makanda, Illinois.

It is one of the further wineries from Cape Girardeau, so we do not get over there that far very often. Also, I feel as if it is always crowded and I like to go to places less crowded which keeps me from traveling there. Of course, it goes without saying that a crowded place is only crowded because it is popular and a good place to visit. Our experience has always been good. These photos are from our first visit on October 7, 2011.

This is something I remember well! Because I had my first "big camera" as I call them, which was a Canon 40D, the owner thought I must be a reporter or someone with clout and dropped by to sit down and visit with us. Little did he know I was just little 'ol me with a blog. I am just a peon, but then again, I have had some social media influence over the years. This was the year I learned that big cameras make owners perk up their heads and give you extra attention to make sure your experience is great. I think it is more common now to see someone with a big camera than it was in 2011. Just look at all the crowd in these photos and imagine though that my camera got us special treatment. That still makes me smile.
