Pinewoods Lake Recreation Area
I have seen the sign for Pinewoods Lake Recreation Area many times and on this time traveling down Highway 60 I took the turn and went to explore. We walked down the Pinewoods Lake Trail near Elsinore, Carter County, Missouri on April 17, 2021. It is located in the Mark Twain National Forest and there is even a nice camping area at the lake. See the above video which shares more of our hike and the area. We like to swim in rivers and are not so much "lake people," but this is a nice area to get out and relax. I can see camping here in non-swimming months.
