Challenge 33. - Journal Strips/Mats

One of my must-have elements on a page is the journaling itself, so if I can have something to journal on, it gives the layout variety. What else can you do with journal mats or strips other than the norm? Maybe be creative with the text on the mat with different sizes and colors and fonts? Maybe link the strips and mats together in a row for lots of journaling? What about placing a photo over half of the journaling to create a new shape mat?
