Straw Stems

(image source no longer working, was realsimple.com)

I am SO doing this!  I love to bring flowers in this time of year from the garden and put them in a vase.  Sometimes we buy flowers and put them in a vase, but often as the flowers start to die and I begin rearranging the flowers, some are often too short to work well after cutting off the dead.

What a great idea this is to allow the flower to drink while making it longer by sticking a straw on the end.  If the vase is not clear, the straw could be any straw.  I'll have to start saving my fast food straws and recycling them.
