Mark 4:26-29 THE PARABLE OF THE SEED GROWING

Jesus told another parable, "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground. He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how. The earth produces by itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. But when the grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”

In this parable, man is planting the seeds (spreading the Word of God), but thereafter he is so busy in his night and day that he misses it growing. The man is busy living in God’s earthly kingdom and missing the Lord’s spiritually divine kingdom growing. It is so easy to miss the flowers growing in my own yard and then all of the sudden, there they are in full bloom. Just when I think my efforts have been for naught, a glorious reveal appears. How a seed grows is a mystery and a Glory be to God.  We are not always able to see how the Word that we plant grows in others as it grow inside, but when the faith is ripe in others, we will see it gathered up by God in heaven.

Lord, let me plant seeds for your kingdom. I know that I am not the best planter and an even worse observer missing growth in my own surroundings. Sometimes I let the lack of results discourage me. I pray God you will help me to be different.
