JESUS HEALS A MAN UNABLE TO SPEAK

Matthew 9:32-34

A mute demon-oppressed man was brought to Jesus. I wonder if the demon inside him was frustrated that he could not speak through the man's mouth. The man spoke after Jesus cast out the demon. Jesus is a merciful deliverer! There is no limit to what Jesus can do. The people proclaimed and praised the miracle, but the Pharisees refuted the miracle as being done by the prince of demons.

 

In Chapter 9, the Pharisees attack Jesus accusing him of blasphemy, befriending outcasts, lack of reverence, and serving satan. The Pharisees did not like that Jesus had ignored their religious authority, affecting their control over the people, challenging their idolized beliefs, and unmasking their motives.  All of these can be summed up in one word: jealousy.
