James 5:7-8

5:7-11 BE PATIENT WITH ONE ANOTHER

5:7-8 In contrast to the warning of the rich people in the previous verses, James addresses the alternative lifestyle, to be patient until the coming of the Lord. The rich people take matters into their own hands by storing up in preparation for the days ahead. Instead of worrying about how many crops and when they will be ready, the farmer is patient to wait for the rains, whether they are early or late.  Rain is uncontrollable by man, but is controlled by God.  Be patient while you wait for the One who is in control. Be confident in the Lord, strengthening and establishing your heart. Do not give up until the harvest day (when the Lord will come again) of God's judgment when the Lord returns in all His glory.
