Challenge 17 - The Element: Mats

Mats are an essential element in digital scrapbooking as they help to bring the eye to the photos.  In addition, they can be utilized for journaling, as well as hosting clusters of elements.  However, the most vital use of matting is to ground the layout so that everything is not just floating on a page.  Utilizing matting to touch the edges of the layout so that everything touches something that touches an edge is the easiest way to ground a layout.  What else can you do with mats?
