~An Irish Lullaby
Over in Killarney, many years ago,
Me Mother sang a song to me
in tones so sweet and low.
Just a simple little ditty,
in her good old Irish way.
And I'd give the world if she could sing that song to me this day.
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li.
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Hush now don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li.

~An Irish Lullabye
Over in Killarney
Many years ago,
Me Mither sang a song to me
In tones so sweet and low.
Just a simple little ditty,
In her good ould Irish way,

Chorus:
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby.
Oft in dreams I wander
To that cot again,
I feel her arms a-huggin' me
As when she held me then.

To me as in days of yore,
When she used to rock me fast asleep
Outside the cabin door.

Heaven to hear you!

~Blarney Spoken Here

~Dance as if no one were watching, sing as if no one were listening, and live every day as if it were your last.

~For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way,
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

~I know a place where the sun is like gold.
And the cherry blooms burst with snow;
And down underneath is the loveliest nook, Where the four-leaf clovers grow.

~ One leaf is for hope, and one for faith.
And one is for love you know;
But God put another in for luck--
If you search, you will find where they grow.

God never shuts one door unless He opens another. ~Irish Proverb

~Here's to a long life and a merry one. A quick death and an easy one. A pretty girl and an honest one. A cold beer—and another one!

~Here's to fine wine, women, and song.

~ Words by Mort Dixon, music by Harry Woods
I'm looking over a four-leaf clover
That I overlooked before.
One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain, Third is the roses that grow in the lane.
No need explaining, the one remaining
Is somebody I adore.
I'm looking over a four-leaf clover
That I overlooked before

~Life is like a cup of tea, it's all in how you make it. ~Irish Proverb

~Oh, did you ne'er hear of the Blarney,
That's found near the banks of Killarney?
Believe it from me,
No girls heart is free,
Once she hears the sweet sound of the Blarney, Once she hears the sweet sound of the Blarney.

~Oh say, would you find this same Blarney, There's a castle not far from Killarney, On the top of the wall But take care you don't fall, There's a stone that contains all this Blarney, There's a stone that contains all this Blarney.

~Like a magnet its influence such is,
That attraction it gives all it touches, If you kiss it, they say, That from that blessed day, You may kiss whom you plaze, with your Blarney, You may kiss whom you plaze with your Blarney.

~Oh, Paddy, dear, an' did ye hear the news that's goin' round? The shamrock is forbid by law to grow on Irish ground! No more St. Patrick's Day we'll keep, his colour can't be seen, For there's a cruel law agin' the Wearin' o' the green~ Author Unknown

~Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter Lullabies, dreams and love ever after.
Poems and songs with pipes and drums
A thousand welcomes when anyone comes...
That's the Irish for you!

~St. Patrick's Day
Oh, my mother isn't Irish
And my father isn't too,
But today I feel as Irish
As the really Irish do.
For today I wear a shamrock
That is green in every way
And though I am Canadian,
I am Irish -- for today!
~ Aileen Fisher

~St. Patrick's Day
Leprechauns peeking,
Around a willow tree,
Pussy willows waking,
Longing to be free.
Colleens and shamrocks
Put them all together
To make St. Patrick's Day

~The Croppy Boy
It was early, early in the spring
The birds did whistle and sweetly sing
Changing their notes from tree to tree
And the song they sang was Old Ireland free.
It was early early in the night,
The yeoman cavalry gave me a fright
The yeoman cavalry was my downfall
And I was taken by Lord Cornwall.

~'Twas in the guard-house where I was laid, And in a parlour where I was tried My sentence passed and my courage low When to Dungannon I was forced to go.

~As I was passing my father's door
My brother William stood at the door
My aged father stood at the door
And my tender mother her hair she tore.

As I was going up Wexford Street
My own first cousin I chanced to meet;
My own first cousin did me betray
And for one bare guinea swore my life away.

As I was walking up Wexford Hill
Who could blame me to cry my fill?
I looked behind, and I looked before
But my aged mother I shall see no more.

And as I mounted the platform high
My aged father was standing by;
My aged father did me deny
And the name he gave me was the Croppy Boy.

It was in Dungannon this young man died
And in Dungannon his body lies.
And you good people that do pass by
Oh shed a tear for the Croppy Boy.

~The Leprechaun
Near misty stream in Ireland
in the hollow of a tree
Live mystical, magical leprechauns
who are clever as can be
With their pointed ears,
and turned up toes and little coats of green The leprechauns busily make their shoes and try hard not to be seen.
Only those who really believe
have seen these little elves
And if we are all believers
We can surely see for ourselves.

~The Shamrock
For each petal on the shamrock,
This brings a wish your way,
Good health, good luck, good happiness,
For today and everyday.

~ The three leaves of the Shamrock are said to represent the Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). If there is a fourth leaf it represents God's Grace. According to legend, Eve carried a four-leaf clover when she left the Garden of Eden

~There once was a leprechaun green
Who thought he was witty and keen
His hat was so tall
And his buckle quite small
He was funny and shockingly lean

~Wee Bit O' Irish
You're the flash and sparkle in dark Irish eyes.
You're the whimsey and charm of leprechaun guise.
You're the treasured gold at the rainbow's end.
You're the beauty and mystery of emerald glens.
You're the top o' the mornin' ~ my cup of tea.
You're springtime adornin'...blessings on thee.
Author Unknown

~Wee Little Patrick
Patrick is a leprechaun
He has a sack of gold
He hides it in a special place
Between two stumps, I'm told
I think I once saw Patrick
Out in the woods at play
He smiled and laughed and winked his eye And then he ran away
Don't try to follow Patrick
To find his treasure sack
He'll twist and jump and run away
And he never will come back.

~ When Irish Eyes are Smiling,
Sure it's like a morn in spring
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay
And when Irish eyes are smiling
Sure they steal your heart away.

~Whether ye be orange,
or whether ye be green,
Your rainbow has a pot of gold
and shamrocks have four leaves.
Wishes, blarney, little folk,
upon your family tree,
Irish in your history
and luck shall follow thee.
--Brenda Darlene Kijowski

~Will ye go, Lassie, Go
Oh the summertime is coming
And the trees are sweetly blooming
And the wild mountain thyme
Grows around the blooming heather
Will ye go, Lassie go?
Chorus
And we'll all go together
To pluck wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather
Will ye go, Lassie go?

I will build my love a tower
Near yon' pure crystal fountain
And on it I will build
All the flowers of the mountain
Will ye go, Lassie go?

If my true love she were gone
I would surely find another
Where wild mountain thyme
Grows around the blooming heather
Will ye go, Lassie go?

~You will never plough a field if you only turn it over in your mind. ~Irish Proverb

~You've heard I suppose, long ago,
How the snakes, in a manner most antic
He marched to the County Mayo,
And trundled them into th' Atlantic
