134. Pay someone to scrapbook

Would you pay someone to make a scrapbook for you?

There are people who do these services and they are called "Scrap for Hire?"

Sometimes you will see products listed with a license to "S4H" and that gives people who scrap for other people a license to use the product for layouts for other people.

Here are your comments!

Heck no, I wouldn't pay someone now with all you have taught me, Hummie! But I would be glad to be paid to make a scrapbook for someone!!! Lots of my friends keep saying I should do this for a business, especially the baby/family albums I make, but I say then it is work, not fun, and I have such pleasure making the albums about my grandkids! Thanks for explaining S4H as I was not quite sure what that meant. Belle33

No, no and no! Gosh, my scrapping style is my silent language, adding enhancement and "story" to my photos. I am an artist, working in my preferred medium which brings me great joy. By the way, I believe that art isn't something that happens on paper - it is something that happens inside of us, when we are expressing our creative center. Cabin Fever

Nope, I wouldn't, but if someone wants to pay me to scrap for them, I certainly would!!!! ;) Tammyshere

Nope. And I would not do S4H either. That would make it a job, not a joyful hobby. Plus, I want to make the layout the way I want to and I don't like to do repeats. Over the years, I participated in bazaars and made quilts for people, knitted things, sewed lingerie and I never could charge what it was worth. For close friends, I would do a barter system. But money changing hands just ruins it. (I had a friend I was sewing lingerie for and she was just paying for the fabric and lace, and I was making a lot....suddenly I realized I was making her Christmas gift list! I decided to charge her just a little more and when I gave the items to her, she examined them so closely I felt like offering her a magnifying glass!...that was the mental difference a few dollars made. Not for me, thanks) (I do confess to thinking at tim esabout taking my layouts, removing the photos, turning them into quick pages and let my friends "choose" their pages and scrapbook their photos for them. But I have too many adventures in scrapbooking of my own to pursue) I certainly would not create original pages for them without complete freedom in my design choices. LOL Nanscraps

NEVER!! After all my hard work of learning, and the satisfaction of a job well done in my own eyes and the accolades of my family, are all the pats on the back I need (and they overlook the little errors I have made). ccynden

NO! NADDA!! NEVER!! Why should I let someone else have all the fun. I have made books for other people, but never charged. I'm working on a 50th anniversary book right now for a dear friend. NancyP

Never! It is a form of remembering and reminiscing for me. I am sure others can make more beautiful pages that I can, but I know these photos. What is really behind them. No one could do a better job with them than me because of that. JustaMommie

NO, my scrapbooks are personal to me and no one else would be able to replicate the emotions behind some of my lo's. I consider myself lucky to have the skill to create my scrapbooks. In the past I have done a couple of projects for other people at no charge but even though I produced lo's to the best of my ability and I hate to admit this, I had no interest in the work. I put this down to having no personal involvement in the subjects. Thankfully the recipients were over the moon with their scrapbooks but its something I avoid doing a1bjm

No, I wouldn't pay someone to do it for me, but I have been approached in the past about making them for someone else. I do make pages for friends, but as gifts... unexpected ones. And the only payment I ask is for the printing cost, and that's minimal. I wouldn't want to be involved in scrapping for money, because I would grow weary and when would I scrap for myself? It's been so long already! Dawn

A big NO... this is why I am learning to do this my self its personal Dawn Miner

Definitely not! I love my scrapbooking. Admittedly I did think about it before digital scrapping, but since I've been digi scrapping I prefer to do it myself. Maggie
