16. Learning an Appreciation for the Colors You Love (link to comment)
Everyone has heard of "art appreciation" or "music appreciation." I never really knew what art appreciation or music appreciation really meant until I took the classes in college. This lesson is on "color appreciation." I hope you enjoy it.
If you choose digital scrapbooking kits by the colors you love, somehow your layouts will all blend.
I have been looking a lot recently in various digital scrapbooking stores for a new designer to stalk. I have only had two designers in all my scrapping years that I've followed closely. I think it's time that I find someone new to inspire me.
As I looked through the stores, I understood that I am always drawn to certain color kits and that I am always purchasing kits in certain color schemes. Therefore, most of my digiscrapping kits are in the same muted color schemes.
So, if most of my purchases are all in colors I love, somehow, they seem to all blend together in my layouts when I mix and match kits. Isn't that amazing?

I quickly and randomly picked out some colors I was drawn too and made these four color palettes.
Do you see what I mean? Every color I love seems to magically blend together.
Ahhhh...isn't color awesome!
I made this video tutorial to share with you how to find the muted colors which I love so much on the color picker in Photoshop Elements, as well as to help you see where other color schemes exist on the color picker.
I want you to learn how to enjoy color, understand it, and understand what you love about color. There is something about the awareness of color that gives one a whole new appreciation for it.
That's what I want you to learn by the observations in this video. I want you to learn a new appreciation for the colors you love.
