Hugh Rutledge and Mary Golightly Huger
Hugh was born circa 1745 in Charleston, South Carolina to John Rutledge and Sarah Hext Rutledge. He died January 15, 1811, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Of Interest: He was a prominent jurist, serving as the Speaker of the South Carolina House of Representatives and later as a Judge of the Court of Equity.
Married: Ann Smith on October 9, 1783. She died in June 1787.
Married: Mary Golightly Huger on October 4, 1788.

Ann Rutledge (May 1787-June 17, 1787); died day after mother Ann.
Mary Rutledge (1790-1860); Married Andrew Hasell.
Benjamin Huger Rutledge (Feb 10, 1797-April 26, 1832); Lawyer;
- Married: Alice Ann Weston (1800–1862) on February 25, 1824.
- Children:
- 1. Elizabeth Catherine Rutledge (January 1827-January 23, 1910); Known as "Lizzie." She remained unmarried and lived in Charleston.
- 2. Benjamin Huger Rutledge (September 4, 1828 – January 11, 1893); A prominent lawyer and Confederate Brigadier General. He married Eleanor Maria Middleton.
- 3. Alice Weston Rutledge (1830-June 14, 1874)
Francis Huger Rutledge April 11, 1799-November 6,1866 in Tallahassee, Florida;
- Of Interest: Became the first Episcopal Bishop of Florida. After serving parishes in South Carolina, he moved to Florida in 1839. He was consecrated as the 1st Bishop of Florida in 1851.
- Children: Never married or had children
