Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site
We visited Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site on August 12, 2018, which is located at 94 Green St. Wickliffe, Kentucky. Many are familiar with Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site because Monks Mound is so huge, but there are other locations where mounds existed and Wickliffe is a State Park preserving this history as well. These mounds are of the Mississippian Native American culture and my ancestors who were Illinois Indians were part of this culture, so this is very interesting to me. In addition to walking the grounds, there is also a museum and it is very interesting to see the archaeological sites.
