Grand Auglaize Swinging Bridge

We visited the Grand Auglaize Swinging Bridge on June 13, 2015. It is also known as the Brumley Swinging Bridge because it is located in Brumley, Missouri. It was built in 1931. It is located about 2 miles southwest of Brumley in Miller County, Missouri. There is even a "Swinging Bridge Road" that leads up to it.

In a 2018 inspection of the bridge rated it as "poor," and a campaign to save the bridge landed it on the National Register of Historic places in 2020. Since January 6, 2021, the bridge has been closed to all traffic due to structural issues. As of 2022, it's unknown when it will reopen to traffic as there are no funding available for the needed repairs.

We continued driving down the road exploring and found a creek nearby to wallow in. We like to find our own adventures and quiet places to hang out for a little while.
