Peck Ranch Conservation Area

Peck Ranch Conservation Area is a place I would visit again, although when we were there we did not see much, if any, wildlife. The closest town on Highway 60 nearing Shannon County is Fremont, which is located in Carter County, Missouri. Peck Ranch is the home of wild elk and although we did not see any, I do believe you need to arrive early in the morning or late at night to get the best chance. It did seem as if there was a nice camping area, but I wondered what it would be like camping with all the hunters. We visited on October 27, 2018, and took the long ride around the area and the Autumn scenes were gorgeous.
