Lake of the Ozarks State Park

We visited the Lake of the Ozarks State Park on June 13, 2015. The campgrounds are located at 257 Public Beach Road, Brumley, Missouri. The postal address of Brumley is in Miller County and a small part of the campgrounds is in Miller County, but where we set up our tent was in Camden County. We left impromptu after work and drove for six hours and when we arrived there was no camping where we landed! We learned that the campsite were some distance away so we hunkered down with the dogs in the car all night right where we were at. The next morning we drove to the camping area and we lucked out in that someone had not shown up and we got one of the few spots right on the lake. If we had planned it, we would not have gotten such a great camping spot, so it proves that "gypsy style" vacationing often is rewarding. When we woke up, there was a conservation vehicle hovering nearby, so we left quickly. I did not think we were doing anything wrong as we were just parked and in our seats, but we did not want to get into trouble either.

This is the view from where we slept. I have no idea what park we were at, but there was no camping here.

Another view outside the car where we slept the first night. Maybe you can tell me where we were. Our GPS took us here.

Here's our great campsite!
