Silver Lake

Silver Lake is special to me because my Geile ancestors were some of the first settlers here and Henry Joseph Geile donated the land for the church. I took these photos on November 28, 2018, although I have been to Silver Lake many times. I never before stood by the lake which is downhill from the church, St. Rosa Lima Catholic Church, and as the sun was setting I was amazed at how silver the lake really was and could understand how it became to be named as such. Many of my ancestors are buried here in the cemetery next to the church and I have obtained Deeds and plan to plot where their land existed.

These are not all of the photos in the above video, but some of the same.

This is the view of the church looking down at the cemetery.

Even the sky seemed silver that evening!

What a beautiful view looking away from the cemetery at the hills.

And also the lake as seen from the cemetery.

I love this photo because the lake is silver and you can see the church and cemetery on the hill.
