St. Joseph Apple Creek Schnurbusch Karst Window

St. Joseph Apple Creek Schnurbusch Karst Window is located at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Apple Creek, which is northwest of Old Appleton. Missouri is known as the "Cave State" and this is a collasped cave that has been built up around it as a worship area as you begin by walking down the trail passing the Stations of the Cross. The water comes up from the spring and flows under a bridge and then disappears under the ground again. We visited on October 20, 2018, and it is a great day trip from Cape Girardeau. Bring a book and a picnic blanket, although there are numerous benches scattered about to sit upon.
