Runge Conservation Nature Center

Runge Conservation Nature Center is often shortened to Runge Nature Center, but it is maintained by the Missouri Department of Conservation. I have heard the name of this place a lot, so my impression is that marketing is well done, especially since it is in Jefferson City, Missouri, where our capitol sits which draws visitors.

My feet were really hurting from being on them all day, so we only took the short hike. There were several to choose from, which I thought was nice. There were longer trails too I would have liked to have taken. I was really impressed with the thoughtfulness towards education that was put into these trails.

The nature center is a great place to take children to learn.

We went a short distance down another trail to the fire tower and enjoyed climbing it. There is a lot of history with this fire tower that can be read on informational boards.
