Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Illinois

We had always heard so much about the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows (Wikipedia) in Belleville, Illinois, not far from St. Louis, that we were anxious to visit their Christmas lights display. It did not disappoint! However, it is not something we will be doing again very soon because the long wait on the highway was not something we want to hurry to do again. It took us about two hours to drive a mile and a half! If we lived closer, would could probably time it right to avoid the wait, but that was not an option for us. We were surprised that by the time we left, the traffic had cleared out and people were entering with no wait! I think if we had come from the other direction we might have had less of a wait.

The Annual Way of Lights Christmas display has been going on since 1970!

I could not drive and take photos, so we focused on the video above and have very few photos snapped during the videotaping.
