The last place we visited on December 20, 2024, before heading home was Rochester Falls Access in Andrew County, Missouri.
We immediately saw the camping spots and I thought they looked great and that I would so camp here never the water. However, it would depend on the type of crowd that hangs out here and the company that we would have. We prefer less crowded and quiet.
We got out of the truck and walked down to the water on the trail from the camping spots and this is the beach that is there.
This is the place where we were hearing the rapids from. I do love to sit and listen to the sound of water.
We traveled on down the road and found a parking place with these mini waterfalls. I bet it is beautiful when it all greens up. There was a staircase that seemed to lead down to the beach here, but it looked to be washed out. There was a vehicle stuck on the bank and the whole scene made me think that this is a flash flood area and could at times be dangerous.
I wondered what this place is like during the Summer and whether or not people hung out down there are just viewed it from above.
Around the corner from the staircase I saw this sign that would indicate that someone died here. I wondered how the person died, or if maybe it was just a memorial to someone who loved to be here.
It was a horrible drive home! The traffic on I-70 was stopped for a very long period of time. It sure did make for a long drive.
