Valley View Glades Natural Area

On September 27, 2020, we visited Valley View Glades Natural Area. We had never been here before but we really enjoyed ourselves. I would go back and do this hike again, although about 3 miles is long for me and the trail was rather hard in many places. I would classify it as a difficult hike as you can see in the video. If I go back, I would want to do it at a different time of the year and probably just go so far on the trail and come back, skipping the more difficult area of the trail. I bet the wildflowers are beautiful! The natural area is maintained by the Missouri Department of Conservation and is near Hillsboro, Missouri.

I did not take my big camera for photos, but rather grabbed some cell phone photos while recording. This is the beginning of the hike.

This photo shows just how rocky much of the trail is and how difficult it is to walk. Younger folks or more stable and balanced folks with big feet might do better than I did.

Every so often you come out into wide open areas like this with a big sky view and glades. Just beautiful.

You can tell from the hues of this photo that the day was getting long. We were afraid we would be doing the last part in the dark, so next time if we do the hole trail we will be sure to arrive earlier for us slow old folks!

This is jut a spot on the ground of some lovely colors. I can see the seasons mixing in this photo.
