Concordia Log Cabin College, Altenburg, December 16, 2022

I have been to the Concordia Log Cabin College in Altenburg, Missouri, many times and taken photos of the outside (I am not sure where the older photos are so I will have to go back), but I have never been inside, so this was a real treat for me. I hope you enjoy the tour and the helpful guide as I explore the log cabin college and the home behind it. Here are blog posts about the Log Cabin.

Christmas Country Church tour, December 16, 2022

I have all 34 of 38 locations of the Christmas Country Church Tour on my website and needed to head out to visit the remaining ones. Trinity Egypt Mills canceled for the year so I did not get that location and the church in Ste. Genevieve is an hour drive away, so it will need to be another year as a solo goal since we only do the church tour after work after 5 p.m. and only have so much time. I do prefer the evening visits with all the lights. It really puts me in the Christmas mood every year. I have been to the outside of the Ste. Gen church, but never inside. Maybe I can get those two next year. This year the two I needed to visit were Sargent's Chapel Lutheran Church and the Saxon Memorial Lutheran Memorial nativity. I have a page dedicated to the Saxon Lutheran Memorial with other photos. I also visited other churches near these two churches and did not take many photos but merely enjoyed them and took video snippets.

Lutheran Heritage Center Christmas Tree Display, December 16, 2022

The Lutheran Heritage Center has this Christmas Tree Display every year and there are so many trees that it takes a long time just to quickly visit them all, must less observe the many features on each tree. I give just a snippet of the name of each tree and a bit of the tree in this video. I need to go again and spend time enjoying all of the individual oranments a little bit more. This is a tremendous amount of work that these folks do and I am so glad that so many people come to see it each year.

PHOTOS

Here are photos for each of the places I visited in 2022 and I share them in the order that I visited them.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 3700 Country Road 415, Friedheim, Missouri

On the way to Sargents, I was in need of a restroom and I saw a steeple in the distance and was so glad I visited Trinity Lutheran Friedham again. They have painted a mural at the front of their church, put on a new tin ceiling, and redone the window sills. They are really taking care of their church. I also got to see the animals as they prepared for a nativity. You can see more of this church at the Christmas Country Church tour 2019.

Sargent's Chapel Lutheran Church, 34696 County Road 234, Marble Hill Missouri

This church is also marked as in Sedgewickville. is really located between Daisy, Missouri and Sedgewickville, although its address is of the Marble Hill postal route I suppose.

I believe I have visited Sargent's Chapel before, but it must have been in my early visits before I took videos or even photos of every place as I could not find any. This church sits down one-vehicle-wide long country roads that seem to run into each other and almost be the same road, and at night can be intimidating to visit for those not used to going down dark country roads at night, but suddenly there it is and it makes the drive worthwhile.

Saxon Memorial Lutheran Memorial nativity

I have a page dedicated to the Saxon Lutheran Memorial with other photos. They had a camel and sheep and goats and a cow and more! I was disappointed that the video I took of them was done in error and lost, but at least I took some photos.

Concordia Lutheran Church, 10172 Highway C, Frohna, Missouri

I visited Concordia as it is near Saxon and there is where I met the bus of folks that would follow me the rest of the evening. I absolutely love this church. You can see more of this church at the Christmas Country Church tour 2021 page. On November 18, 2011, our church took a trip to visit this church and these 5 photos are the ones that I took.

It was a special visit with few folks and they let us go up to the pulpit.

I snapped this one this year. This is the Lord's Supper art that was a part of so many of the churches I visited tonight.

Immanuel Lutheran Church, 8234 Main Street, Altenburg, Missouri
