Montelle Winery

We were driving home from having visited August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area and Daniel Boone Home Historic Site on May 6, 2023, and randomly found this winery. I was glad that I chose a route home different than where GPS was taking us. There were lots of signs to wineries on the road we were traveling and could see how this would be a great getaway location. The views were absolutely amazing! We were so happy have had happenstanced upon it. The winery is located at 201 Montelle Dr, Augusta, St. Charles County, Missouri. It is along Highway 94 and 'wow' are there are lot of wineries along Highway 94! We need to go back! We also saw an entrance to the Katy Trail along Highway 94, so we could bring our bikes.

You can see from this photo that the outdoor seating area is just amazing! There is no where bad to sit that does not have an amazing view. This porch actually wraps all the way around the building to the left of this photo.

This is the tasting room. Tastings were $10 so we just bought a bottle. The bottles and the many different varieties are all the way down the left wall.

As you come out of the tasting room you turn down the multi-level outdoor area. There are tables on a covered deck at the end of this walk to the left. The live music was coming from under the canopy here. The views went all the way around and were so extensive and wide there was no way to capture them with video or camera.

This is the lower deck with plenty of seating to choose from and none were bad.

I wondered what the building was in the distance with the tall pipes.

If you walk off down the steps on the left you can walk around to some picnic tables in the grass.

We had pretzel sticks with cheese sauce and a pizza and although not the healthiest choice (they had healthier), it tasted good after a long day walking.

I was take aback by the layers, at least four, of trees in the distance. This is not a photo that does it justice, but it is zoomed in and shows the layers.

There is a statute along the road into the park of an Indian. I am assuming that the Indian's name is Montelle, but I saw no information to tell us about him.
