On Saturday, May 20, 2023, our next stop was Indian Hills Conservation Area located in Baring, Scotland County, Missouri, in the Northeast part of the State. This is a hunter's area more than anything else. There were lots of wide open spaces and it was a beautiful drive on a beautiful day. It felt like a safe place to visit and I suppose one could have a picnic or set up camp at one of the parking areas that are also known as primitive camping areas. It was a great place for a relaxing drive if you live nearby enough.
This is what a parking lot at the conservation area looked like. You can camp here.
We were amazed at the countryside in northern Missouri because we were expecting a lot of farmland. You can see a little bit of farmland here to the left, but for the most part, it looked like this photo or like farmland for cattle to roam and graze. There must be a lot of cattle farms in northern Missouri.
