Harry S Truman State Park

Harry S. Truman State Park is located in Benton County, Missouri on the Harry S. Truman Reservoir! Who would have thunk it? Huh? We visited here on August 9, 2025. It was location 10 of 16 on our travel trip. We are not much of lake people, but we visited a lot of lakes to see something in counties of Missouri we had not visited yet.

From the main entrance, we first drove straight and could see the marina and the beach at the end of the road.

It was a nice beach and the parking lot for the beach was large.

We decided to sit at a picnic table for a snack.

Hubby decided to film walking around this peninsula while I waited at the table with the dogs. The dogs were too hot to get out of the shade. He went all the way around the peninsula and filmed it zoomed in! The video showed nothing! So he went for a second walk and filmed it again for us to see.

It was enjoyable watching the boats. This boat came in close and children played in the water near it.

There where he walked down and walked around to the other side. We did not do much here. There were trails, but none wanted to do on a hot day. It seemed like a nice place though. We did drive around the other side and found another beach area.
