It was a very hot weekend, but not at Pomme De Terre Lake, Dam Campsite, in Hickory County, Missouri. The breezes off the lake through the windows on our Lone Peak were amazing! It was an unexpected treat for sure! We also did more anniversary celebrating here as we camped on August 9, 2025. Have I told you enough how much we love our camper?

We initially picked out site #100 because it was away from people and we could still see the lake. We liked that there was a trail down to the lake. However, on a first-come, first-serve basis we could not check in until late afternoon, so we wandered around to make sure it was the best place. This site did not have any shade and we were hot!

This is a view of the lake and the swimming spot from that campground.

This is clear on the other side! I took this photo as other possible campsites, I think one is 58.

We ended up on site #11 which was a little more crowded, but we loved the view and the breeze! Site 100 did not have the breeze. Plus there was a shade tree that was positioned better for shade.

I cannot describe the breeze well enough! It was like an ocean breeze and we enjoyed it and the birds flying in the air so much. It was our anniversary and although we did not see many folks outside their campers, there were lots of people walking. When they walked by, or rode their bikes by, I yelled at them to wish us a happy anniversary and they did! Hey, they were staring at our camper and us anyway! That was a lot of fun and made for a great evening.

The sunset was off to our right and having the other campers below the scene was not optimal, but we enjoyed it from our high camper setting.

I took a screen shot of my phone that showed the exact location of our camper. The sunset could be seen out the left window of the camper, but I had to get in just the right spot to see it.

I always have to have tea in the morning! The flowers are from home and were with us the entire trip.
