Cape Girardeau Central Pool

I found these two photos of Cape Girardeau Central Pool from 2009. We have always called it "Cape Central Pool," but I see now it is called Cape Municipal Pool. We have swam here many times. We have trouble coming here to swim now as it is often closed to the public for swim meets. It is located at the former Cape Girardeau Central High School which is now the Cape Girardeau Junior High School.

In the winter the town calls it "the Bubble" because they put a big white bubble over the pool so that swimming can continue during the cold months, which is especially important for use by the school district and the swim teams.

We always liked swimming laps and sitting out at this pool because there was less traffic than at Capaha Pool, where our boys learned to swim. Of course, now there is Cape Splash where the crowds hang out.
