We loved visiting The Pretty Place Chapel in the Fred W. Symmes YMCA in South Carolina. We visited on June 30, 2025. This place is often booked for weddings and other events, or even used for the YMCA where it is located, so before going check with their website to see the times that it is open to the public. The timing it was available for us worked out just perfectly with where we were at and where we were going.
The view is amazing!
Here is where it is located in the northern part of South Carolina in the Mountains where it borders with North Carolina. We had come from Table Rock State Park where we spent the night and then Ceasers Head State Park to visit.
This is the YMCA Camp Greenville sign when entering.
This is the outside of the chapel.
I love the words "I will lift up my eyes to the hills, Psalm 121.1 above the cross.
It was wonderful how everyone treated the place with reverence by being as silent as possible. Folks also took turns quietly going down to the front for photo opportunities. It was truly treated as a chapel or church by everyone visiting. It was a great place to sit and pray.
Here is a close up of the mountains in the distance.
We took our turn for a photo op as in 2025 I promised myself I would try to get in front of the camera more.
Isn't God good! Look at that beauty!
There were stone signs on all of the pillars around the place. I wanted to read them all. I had hubby go around and take some photos of some of them so I could read them later. There were so many that he was not able to get them all. I hope you enjoy reading the below.
