North Fork's Blue Spring

North Fork's Blue Spring is located within the North Fork Recreation Area. It is easy to find at the end of the road once entering the recreation area and passing by the camping areas. North Fork Recreation Area is locatied on Highway CC. You can find Highway CC from West Plains and travel 17.5 miles. It is before you ge to Dora, Missouri, but is located in the city of Pottersville, barely in the northeast corner of Ozark County. August 15, 2022

This is a short and lovely hike down to the spring and when you eye first spies it, oh my!

You can see the people in the canoe in the distance. A popular thing to do is to canoe right up and into the spring.

You can walk right around the spring on the rocks and then step down into the water if you dare. It feel so cold! One person told us that it is 52 degrees year round. The stroll in leisure around the blue spring is delightful.

This is the beginning of the trail.

The trail has a fun wooden bridge next. You can see the water from here and we came back to this spot to wallow in the water.

The next part of the trail has a railing.

It's time to duck! The trail follows the river which is nice.

As you walk around the spring, this is the view back out.

The trail continues upward and above to an overlook and this is what you see. The trail continues on, but we did not follow it.

This is our wallow spot where we spent a little time doing our favorite thing called "river wallowing!"
