Buckner Brewing Company and Ragsdale's and Ice Photos on Mississippi River 2009

Buckner's was such a classic Cape Girardeau icon that it was sad when it closed in February of 2013. I found a few snippets of video when we ate there in 2009. There are some ice on the Misssissippi River photos of the same year at the end. These photos are also below.

I saw the beautiful sunrise, but by the time I went home and got my camera, it was gone. Instead I enjoyed getting these video snippets in the very early morning hours in Cape Girardeau and of the Mississippi River.

I do not know what it is, but I get excited when I see two barges pass each other. It is like a fun monent to try to catch.

I picked a few photos from the above slideshow of us just hanging out at the river to share as photos.

I love this panorama! Look at the sky!

I love the cobblestone.

Mississippi River Sunrise, January 6, 2018

I got up early on this morning just to catch the sunrise on the water. I remember that I could hardly stand being there as it was so cold on my fingers and face. I could not keep my gloves on and press the shutter button. I went all the way down to the water's edge for photos. One of the photos that I shared went viral and folks were downloading it and resharing it as their own all over social media and I spent more time chasing it down to have it removed. I have no idea why people do that. Why can they not just share my photo using the share button? Why do they have to claim it as thier own? Some people just live for likes I guess. I was the one that suffered physically by getting up so early and getting out in the cold just for these photos! There are more photos in the above video slideshow.

There are more photos from 2012 in the above video, but I selected a few to share here as well.

The one shows the marks on the riverwall that show the height of the recording flooding by year.

I remember that this was not a planned trip. We were at downtown for something else and just happened upon these sights.

Now in 2022 there is a new painting on the wall, so I am glad to see I have photos of the old painting.

As an extra in the movie Gone Girl, taking photos of The Bar that was also in the movie was fun for me.
