When I take a vacation, it is always to see God’s wondrous nature. This summer we traveled from one side of North Carolina to the other and were blessed with so many amazing sights. One view was from the Blue Ridge Parkway overlooking the vast mountains. I tried to capture the view with my camera by piecing together photos in panorama, but I would have to print it out on an oversized long paper to even appreciate the reproduction.

A photo cannot do the view justice and only the photograph in my mind remains to be appreciated. I can close my eyes and imagine the seemingly boundless view filled with people. How many people could stand in such a range and be able to see me. Each tree I see could be at least one person. If I shouted with my loudest voice, could all those imagined people hear me? If they listened carefully I’m confident they could. What would I shout? “O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people” (Psalm 105:1).Ah! I can close my eyes and imagine the liberating feeling as I shout at the top of my lungs. Oh what a wonderful feeling!

The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 says “Go therefore and make disciples.” It does not say “stand on a mountain towering above people.” It says “Go!” It is very specific. We are to go, move, move in, move on, move out, move over, start into motion, step, take action, act, and meet them face to face. The world is not going to come to us. We must be a marvelous moving mountain mouth. Where is your mountain? It is wherever your mouth can move!

”When I was a seeker; I sought both night and day; I asked the Lord to help me; and he showed me the way; go tell it on the mountain; over the hills and everywhere; go tell it on the mountain; our Jesus Christ is born.” (Lyrics)
